![]() You can get around this problem by creating an empty fallback glyph and importing a monochrome version with less details of your colored letters.Īlternates provide a way to put several glyphs on the same Unicode character and selecting which glyph that should be displayed when the font is used. In addition will glyphs with too many details hardly fit on the TTF grid. Creating monochrome fallback glyphs can take a long time if your glyphs contains many small parts (hundreds or even thousands). Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge has support color fonts in their browsers but Chrome lags behind at this point. Would easily be a 5 star app if it was a LOT more user friendly.OpenType-SVG color fonts is a rather new format and some applications does not support it. But it would sure be nice to know how to use it. Now that I’ve played with it, I would have paid $50 or $60 for it. I basically took a chance that it wasn’t complete garbage since it’s the only font editor in the app store. It’s a great app, and I was hesitent to pay $15 for it because even the description in the app store is almost nonexistent. I’m sure the developer knows exactly what all the tools are and how to use them, but how about helping out users that are new to editing fonts. There are even a few videos, but they have no sound so you are just basically watching someone move the cursor around and don’t know when/if he’s clicking the mouse or pressing a key or anything. It did everything I needed to do, but I was fumbling all the way through using it - used command-z a lot. ![]() There is a non App Store version of this app on the web that seems to be popular.
